About the event
Mike Stax from Ugly Things Magazine once said, “Most bands just get worse as they age, but The Sadies keep surprising us by getting better and better.”
During the pandemic, The Sadies had the chance to take their time and record with Producer Richard Reed Parry (from Arcade Fire/Belle Orchestre) at his studio in Montreal. Working with their good friend made it easy, and Richard believes it's “The Sadies’ best album yet, the one I always hoped they’d make.”
In March 2023, The Sadies won the JUNO Award for “Colder Streams” as the Adult Alternative Album of The Year in Edmonton. It was a proud but bittersweet moment for the band. Most recently, “Colder Streams” also made it to the Polaris Music Prize Short List for 2023.
